Nintendo unveils Wii Fit price

Nintendo has finally come out with the price of its highly anticipated game/peripheral, Wii Fit. Come May 19, you’ll be able to pick up Wii Fit for a cool $89.99. This includes both the game Wii Fit and the innovative Wii Balance Board, a bathroom scale-like peripheral with incredible precision for measuring everything from weight to balance. When Nintendo first announced Wii Fit would be retailing for “under $100″, many predicted the price would probably come in at $99.99, based on Nintendo’s previous announcement that the Wii would cost under $250 and ended up retailing for $249.99.  While $89.99 may seem a bit high to some, when you think about what you’re getting (a highly sophisticated piece of hardware, plus a full-blown game), it’s really not as bad as it might seem. If Japan is any indication (over 1.4 million units have been sold since its release last December), Wii Fit will prove to be a hit in the U.S. Nintendo is prepared for the onslaught of customers looking to snap up copies, stating that it will have over 1 million units available at launch.

  1. I thought It would be a much more expensive piece. I mean everything else is so expensive when it comes to expandability. Like when Guitar Hero came out. BUT i will have to say that Activision is now partially owned by MTV, so of course the price for something like that would be pretty high. Not to mention Rock Band for Wii is priced at $170.00.
